Lack of Desire

Have you ever had one of those moments where you just lost the desire to enjoy something.  Have you ever cooked so many cupcakes that you just no longer found them appealing to eat.

Recently I was working on a project it has been 11 weeks in the making and one little event just completely changed my attitude about the conclusion.  I had no desire to finish the project, nor even care about the first 11 weeks I had worked so hard to get that far.

Why? What is the logical explanation of this?  How can we get so excited about something like baking or building ..ETC. and something change that course of interest?  Does this have something to do with our personality, cultural experience, or upbringing.

Am I the only one this happens to?

Funny or Sad?

Becoming Illegal.
You’ll love this!
FORMS ARE GOING FAST- SIGN UP TODAY!
Actual letter from an Iowa resident Sent
to his senator The Honorable Tom Harkin
731 Hart Senate Office Building.

Dear Senator Harkin,
As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill’s provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.
Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I’m excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications , as well as ‘in-state’ tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver’s license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.
If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.
Your Loyal Constituent, (hoping to reach ‘illegal alien’ status rather than just a bonafide citizen of the USA )

Thought process

Good Will Hunting is a 1997 film about Will Hunting, a janitor at MIT, who has a gift for mathematics, and a psychologist who tries to help him with his gift and the rest of his life.

Has the following thought process! My question, do other people think this way?

Why shouldn’t I work for the N.S.A…. that’s a tough one. But I’ll take a shot. Say I’m working at N.S.A. and somebody puts a code on my desk, something no one else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I’m real happy with myself, ’cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East, and once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hidin’- fifteen hundred people that I never met, never had no problem with get killed. Now the politicians are sayin’, oh, “Send in the marines to secure the area” ’cause they don’t give a s***. It won’t be their kid over there, gettin’ shot, just like it wasn’t them when their number got called, ’cause they were pullin’ a tour in the National Guard. It’ll be some kid from Southie over there, takin’ shrapnel in the a**; he comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from, and the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, ’cause he’ll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so that we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price, and of course the oil companies use the little skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices- a cute little ancillary benefit for them, but it ain’t helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. They’re takin’ their sweet time bringin’ the oil back, o’ course, maybe they even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis an’ f* play slalom with the icebergs; it ain’t too long ’til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So now my buddy’s outta work, he can’t afford to drive, so he’s walkin’ to the f* job interviews, which sucks ’cause the shrapnel in his a** is givin’ him chronic hemorrhoids, and meanwhile he’s starvin’ ’cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat, the only blue plate special they’re servin’ is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what did I think? I’m holdin’ out for somethin’ better. I figure f* it, while I’m at it, why not just shoot my buddy, take his job, give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected President.

Whats the point any way!!

Dating is a great opportunity t0,

  • Watch a movie
  • Have a nice dinner
  • Go bowling
  • (the list is really endless)

The question I really want to consider. What is the point of dating? I can remember in high school getting ready for a date, and the biggest question I had was will this provide the best opportunity to make out. While the girls are thinking will we be able to talk!

In college the motivations changed – but really how much? Still the question stands what is the point? Why do we go on dates?

  • To impress the party with our overly rehearsed rants.
  • To decide if this is some one you might date seriously/ marry.
  • To discover more about the individual.

Their is dating reality that I see a bit different from the “worldly view.” Dating has a goal of sex, or self satification. You work on your pick up line you have the persona that projects you as a grate catch, and hope that you have perfected your game to end in what you want. Physically or Flattery that feeds your personal need.

Now that I am married, my wife likes to remind me how much she enjoys our dates. When we have the opportunity we will often have a nice dinner and a conversation that does not involve the interruptions of our children. On the rare occasion it involves some really romantic location, but its about time together talking and sharing quality time.

Same Sex unions – religious institutions

Do the same sex unions now being allowed in certain parts of the US pose a problem. Will believers face hardships from these state decisions.

In a recent email from focus on the family.

“How is this possible? This past June, the Illinois Legislature legalized same-sex civil unions, including “religious protections” for those with deeply held religious beliefs. Unfortunately, the protections simply weren’t enough, and now faith-based adoption services in the state are being forced to either place children into homes with same-sex couples or face losing their contract with the state.

In this week’s CitizenLink Report, Stuart Shepard interviews the mother of four and talks with Judicial Analyst Bruce Hausknecht about the impact same-sex marriage is having on families.

Soon after the law’s passage, Catholic Charities in Illinois suspended their adoption services, and now Evangelical Child and Family Agency is ending their services as well. According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, these two organizations ranked number one and two for adoption services in the state.

Social issues hitting home
Frequently, my team and I are asked, “How does same-sex marriage really affect you or your family?” There are many answers—and in this case, private, faith-based organizations are closing, no longer able to fulfill the Lord’s calling for serving the least of these, children waiting to be welcomed home by “forever families.”

Illinois is not alone. In the past few years, religious organizations in Boston, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. have suspended adoption services because of the legalization of same-sex marriage or civil unions. Now in Illinois, instead of letting these organizations continue to operate as their faith directs, by referring couples and individuals to other adoption services, the state government is now declaring them unfit to help children because of their religious beliefs.”

Where is this idea going? Will we see such issues among churches?
